Street art Madrid: a selection of Malasaña's graffiti

In the city center of the Spanish capital, in a neighborhood called Malasaña, the traders of more than a dozen streets decided not to fight against the graffiti artists who normally used their metal shutters for their graffiti’s, but to ally with them. The traders let the artists paint the metal shutters freely on Sunday 06 February, when a lot of artists came to Madrid from the rest of Spain and Europe to express their creativiaffiti’s are still visible in Madrid .
As I know, this initiative called ""Persianas libres"" (free shutters) was born in Barcelona in the neighborhood of Guinardó on July 30th 2009. Unfortunately the initiative has not been very well received by the city of Barcelona, where the traders and the graffitists can have a fine for painting the shutters.
